Biden Sounds Note of Desperation

Tuesday, 26 October 2010 10:24 AM EDT

Even Vice President Joe Biden, Democrats’ traditionally sunny campaign cheerleader, is getting worried. He’s desperately urging Democrats to give more money to help their party’s beleaguered congressional candidates,
The Hill reports.

biden, democrats, money, elections"Let me tell you something. I've been around campaigns for a long time, and I have never seen a midterm election with this many races in play," he writes in an e-mail to supporters of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). Translation: we’re about to get spanked big-time by the GOP.

"That's why my friends at the DCCC have a strategy in place to secure victory in these final days."

The goal is to raise $250,000 before Election Day Tuesday. The money will be allocated to rapid response ads and "state-of-the-art voter contact efforts." Prayer would probably serve the Democrats better, as Republicans are almost sure to take over the House and possibly the Senate too.
