Roger Ailes, chairman of FOX News, was awarded the John Regan “Tex” McCrary Award for Excellence in Journalism Saturday by the Congressional Medal of Honor Society.

Ailes, the society said, was honored for his  “distinguished service, excellence, and unbiased news coverage of the United States military in peace and war,” the society said.

The Fox News chairman has been at the helm of the company since 1996 and, the society said, has had a significant impact on journalism and patriotism.
