Type 2 diabetes represents a direct connection between the food we eat and our daily lifestyle habits. I myself had to overcome prediabetes because I was highly addicted to sugar and caffeine, which created a terrible breakdown in my body.
When I first started my journey into the health arena, I wanted to begin to detoxify my body from the huge number of toxins I had consumed. I wasn’t sure how to start this process, but I began by cutting anything and everything “white,” like white flour, white sugar, white potatoes, and white salt.
And you know what? I started to feel great again.
Then I watched a truly inspirational documentary called “Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 days,” which convinced me Type 2 diabetes can actually be cured.
Here’s how you, too, can reverse this condition and lower your blood sugar.
Dietary Changes
Lower the amount of sugar and carbohydrates in your diet by replacing them with more fiber and healthy fats. You also can replace sugary drinks and sodas with flavored water using stevia and fresh lemon.
Adding more vitamins and minerals, and eating complex carbs like quinoa and sweet potatoes, will add stabilize your blood sugar.
If you’re a vegan, adding in things like flax, chia, algae oil, and coconut oil will bring more omega-3s into your diet, as will coldwater wild-caught fish and grass-fed beef.
You can also add in a high-quality omega-3 supplement as well.
You have to add more vegetables to your diet, particularly dark green-leaf veggies such as:
• Lettuce
• Kale
• Spinach
• Arugula
Lifestyle Changes
I suggest you start off with light exercise, such as walking, jogging, doping Pilates, or light stretching. These light exercises will help you stabilize your blood sugar and burn calories.
The reason you need to start of slow is because all of the suggested changes can be very stressful. A lot of people who are working out really need to work “in” to get stress out of there life more than pump iron.
Believing that you can be healed is very important. If you do, lifestyle and dietary changes can radically change your life.
