Former "Dancing with the Stars" TV host Samantha Harris has endured a "grueling" double mastectomy surgery for breast cancer, she revealed this week.
"Made it thru grueling double mastectomy #surgery," she tweeted. "Thanks to all of my amazing surgical team."
Harris, 40, revealed her breast cancer last month,
ABC News reports. After seeing three specialists, she opted for a double mastectomy "to take control" of her disease, she said, and to make the choice right for her and her two daughters — Josselyn, 6, and Hillary, 3.
After making the tough choice, she said she feels "so much calmer."
She added: "My dad wasn't able to walk me down the aisle. I will be here to plan my daughter's weddings and they better like the dress I pick."
