A New York man who was paralyzed from the chest down in a boating accident three years ago was able to walk down the aisle at his own wedding over the weekend with the help of a robotic "exoskeleton."
Matt Ficarra was able to walk and stand during the wedding ceremony in suburban Syracuse on Saturday with the help of the battery-powered device called an Ekso, which is helping paraplegics regain the ability to walk with assistance,
Fox News reports.
He has reportedly been driving to a rehabilitation center in Allentown, Penn., weekly since April to practice walking with the Ekso.
Ficarra broke his neck in a boating accident in 2011. He married Jordan Basile in the ballroom of the Doubletree Hotel in DeWitt.
