The oldest living man, who is 126 and resides in Brazil, is not exactly a poster boy for good health. He has been smoking a pack of cigarettes a day for the past 50 years.
But he walks without a stick or walker, eats four meals a day, and has no health problems, The Telegraph reports. In fact, he is reportedly quite lucid and amuses his housemates with one-line jokes at the residence for elders he lives at in Bauru.
"He's one of our most with-it residents,” says Mariana Silva, psychologist at the Vila Vicentina home, where Jose Aguinelo dos Santos lives. "He doesn't have high cholesterol, diabetes, or high blood pressure. The only medicine he takes are vitamins and a tablet to give him an appetite, which you can lose with old age.”
