Kelly Clarkson has come out swinging against critics who have taken shots at her over her fluctuating weight,
Fox News reports.
British journalist Katie Hopkins landed the first blow, telling ET: "Kelly Clarkson is now a chunky monkey, if we're putting it kindly. She does look like she's eaten her backup singers. My advice: she needs to get out there with her stroller and do some pushing and get some of that weight off.
"That's not baby weight. That's carrot cake."
Kelly reacted to Katie's comments to Heat magazine, by suggesting she is unfazed by the remarks.
"That's because she doesn't know me. I'm awesome! It doesn't bother me," she said, of Hopkins. "It's a free world. Say what you will. I've just never cared what people think. It's more if I'm happy and I'm confident and feeling good, that's always been my thing. And more so now, since having a family — I don't seek out any other acceptance."
Fox reported that Demi Lovato, who has struggled with an eating disorder, and others are fighting back against body image critics.
"If you don't have a thigh gap naturally it doesn't mean that you're not beautiful," Demi said. "You don't have to starve yourself. You're beautifully, wonderfully made. It doesn't matter what other people think of you. Be the best version of yourself and feel confident, because you deserve to."
