NBA star Chris Bosh may have to end his season early because of nagging problems tied to complications from blood clots problems — the same issues that forced hockey player Pascal Dupuis to retire.
CBS Sports reports that twice in the past year, the Miami Heat star has faced possibly shutting down the rest of the season in order to preserve his health.
Last year, doctors found blood clots in his lung and he abruptly ended his regular season. This year, blood clots in his legs were found, but it’s unclear if he will return to play out the season. He could reportedly continue to play with blood thinners, but that could put him at risk of he suffers an injury that causes him to bleed.
Bosh is reportedly under pressure from the team and doctors to sit out the rest of the season. He'd then be evaluated in three to six months to see if he can return to the basketball court.
