Many celebrities try to keep their personal lives private, particularly when it comes to their health. But a number of stars have decided to publicly discuss their medical scares recently, which health experts say can sometimes raise awareness and even funding for medical research.
Just this week month Gwyneth Paltrow revealed she had a miscarriage with her third child and "nearly died" because of it. Beyonce also revealed in her HBO documentary "Life Is But A Dream" that she had a miscarriage before the birth of her daughter, Blue Ivy.
Others, including Carnie Wilson, Kate Middleton, and Nick Cannon, have all been in the news lately, addressing their own health scares.
