The more religious you are, the less likely you are to become ill and call in sick, new research suggests.
Spirituality serves as a “buffer against strains” of modern living for people who are religious, gives their lives meaning, and helps them feel less stressed and anxious at work, scientists say.
What’s more, Dr. Roxane Gervais, a psychologist at the Health Safety Laboratory in Stockport, U.K., discovered that the more religious someone is, the less likely they are to experience depression and exhaustion, the Daily Mail reports. They also feel more content and connected to a higher being.
