Johnny Depp is returning to the United States to undergo surgery on his hand for an injury he suffered while in Australia filming for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, the latest movie in the blockbuster movie series.
According to an article in USA Today, Depp was not filming when the accident occurred, and production will be "minimally impacted," according to an insider.
Disney confirmed the injury to TheWrap, but gave no details. Disney said that the release date for the movie, which began filming in February and will wrap this summer, is unchanged — July 7, 2017.
