Helen Reddy, 73, a pop singer best known for the 1970s feminist anthem “I Am Woman,” has been diagnosed with dementia.
The Daily Telegraph reports she has been moved into a Los Angeles nursing facility where she is being cared for by family and friends.
The news was first reported by the website

Sources said the debilitating illness is in its early stages, but Reddy is “asking the same questions every few minutes” and often misplaces personal items.
The mother of two and the first Australian to win a Grammy Award co-wrote “I Am Woman” in 1971, launching her career.
She followed up with a dozen Top 40 hits over the next five years.
