Workers With Long Commutes Die Younger: Study

Commuters who travel more than 30 miles to get to work die at a younger age than workers with shorter commutes, new research suggests.

Workers who travel are more likely to suffer from higher blood pressure, stress, and heart disease, according to the study by social geographer Erika Sandow from Sweden’s Umeå University.

Commuters also gain more weight over their work lives and take more sick time, the research found.
