People who have reached the ripe old age of 100 feel much younger, says an article published in USA TODAY. A survey from UnitedHealthcare found that centenarians, on average, say they feel about two decades younger at only 83 years old.
Centenarians were also positive about their achievement when asked how they felt about living to be 100 — 36 percent felt "blessed" and 31 percent replied "happy," while only 3 percent said they felt lonely. Perhaps surprisingly, 53 percent still lived independently.

Centenarians said that keys to healthy aging include staying close to family and friends (91 percent), followed by maintaining independence (88 percent), and eating right (86 percent).
Currently, about 55,000 Americans are 100 years of age or older, and that figure is expected to expand to 442,000 by 2050.
