The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has postponed a session about preparedness for a nuclear disaster.
The CDC had planned to host the session Tuesday and stream it live, CNN reported.
Presentations were to include "Preparing for the Unthinkable" and "Roadmap to Radiation Preparedness."
The CDC website now says that a session focusing on public health response to influenza will take place. "The previous public health topic will be rescheduled for a future Grand Rounds," a note said, referring to monthly CDC lectures or symposiums, CNN reported.
The first announcement of the nuclear preparedness session happened coincidentally after President Donald Trump commented to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un that Trump's nuclear button was bigger.
The CDC said at the time that the session was not related to current events. "The calendar is developed back in February or first part of March, and then the calendar is set up for the following season, which starts in December. This stuff is determined far in advance," said Susan K. Laird, Public Health Grand Rounds communications director, in a Jan. 5 CNN report.
