Bobbi Kristina Brown was flown to Chicago recently for a medical evaluation in a last-ditch effort to save her life, according to new reports.

The 22-year-old coma-stricken daughter of late singing legend Whitney Houston was flown from an Atlanta-area rehab facility via a medical plane to be examined by specialists, who apparently offered little hope of recovery. Afterward, Brown was flown back to Georgia and she was moved to a hospice facility, where her family has gathered. Death is imminent, according to reports.

Brown was evaluated by Chicago doctors suggested by TV stars Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey, who are friends of the family, reports say.

Pat Houston, Brown's aunt, spearheaded the trip in a final effort to see if anything could be done to save the young woman’s life.

Medications and other lifesaving measures have now been withdrawn to allow Brown to die in peace, family members say.

Visitors to Brown's bedside have included her father rapper Bobby Brown; her aunt Pat, who is married to Whitney's brother Gary; and another aunt Tina Brown, who is Bobby's sister.

The women were seen embracing each other outside the hospice facility, crying.

The decision to move Brown into hospice came as her family made the decision to give up their five-month effort to save her life.

Pat Houston issued the following statement: "Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, [her] condition has continued to deteriorate. We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God's hands now."

Brown, Whitney Houston's only child, has been unresponsive since she was found face down in a bathtub of water on Jan. 31.
