The family of Bobbi Kristina Brown isn't giving up hope on the survival of the only child of superstar Whitney Houston. Leolah Brown, Bobbi Kristina's aunt, told Atlanta's Fox 5 TV station that her niece is opening her eyes, reports USA Today.
"I was very numb when I saw her," Leolah Brown told the television station, remembering the first time she saw her niece in the hospital on a ventilator. "It's been very, very painful for everybody. Mainly Bobby, because that's his baby," she said of Bobbi Kristina's father, Bobby Brown.
According to Leolah, Bobbi Kristina is definitely improving, and she is hopeful. "There are so many signs showing us that she will be OK. Krissi is fine.
"She's opening her eyes," she said. "Krissi is doing well right now. She is."
Leolah denounced reports that Bobbi Kristina's family had decided to take her off life support today, the third anniversary of her mother's death.
"Let's be hopeful... I'm asking people to pray," she said.
Leolah also revealed that she believes that Nick Gordon, Bobbi Kristina's boyfriend, is a bad influence on her. She believes, and hopes, he will be charged in the ongoing investigation of the mysterious circumstances surrounding the 911 call that led to Bobbi Kristina's hospitalization.
She emphasized that whatever led to the hospitalization, it was not a suicide attempt. "Krissi would never do anything to herself," she told Fox 5. "Everybody in the family knows that. There's no doubt in my mind. Krissi loved life too much!"
Leolah's hopeful attitude about Bobbi Kristina's health was also expressed by cousin Shayne Brown. "She's progressing," he told Entertainment Tonight. "She's getting better. We just ask for people to continue to pray."
