What's Best Way to Lose 10 Pounds?

By    |   Monday, 15 June 2015 10:36 AM EDT

Question: What's the safest, most effective way to drop 10 pounds (I weight about 200) in a month? I'm trying to slim down for a high school reunion.

Dr. Hibberd's answer:

The safest way to lose 10 pounds in one month is to eliminate junk food and alcohol. Keep meals to a reasonable size and eat no more than three per day. High-protein, low-fat, low-carb diets are the best way to go.

You should always eat breakfast and make sure to get reasonable daily aerobic exercise. Your goal should be easy to attain, but aim to cut your calories by 30 percent from your current intake for the next month. Sometimes a dietician’s guidance can help you balance your diet, but a 10-pounds weight loss should be attainable with ease in four weeks with these simple strategies.
