Question: I know some prostate drugs are also used to also treat baldness. Is saw palmetto effective too?

Propecia is useful for helping some men with male pattern baldness to regrow hair, in some cases completely. Propecia is slightly less than quarter-strength Proscar, but beware.

I have had some very reliable patients report they do not get hair growth with using Proscar split into smaller doses, but had superlative results on Propecia.

But there is little evidence that saw palmetto is as effective in treating baldness.
