I wrote previously about a report in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease that indicated that an aloe vera nutrient studied at the University of Miami was able to reverse the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease.
Patients who did not show reversal, did not show any progression of their Alzheimer’s symptoms.
In addition, data show some individual cases in which coconut oil significantly reduced the symptoms of Alzheimer’s.
A new book called The Atlas of Cures by Glenn Rothfeld M.D. has a chapter on stopping Alzheimer’s disease with natural products. The book notes that Dr. Rothfeld used what’s called an individualized combination therapy protocol (ICTP) and has produced excellent results.
The protocol is an individualization of holistic approaches. There are 10 steps:
1. Reduce inflammation and stabilize blood sugar.
2. Optimize hormones.
3. Optimize antioxidents.
4. Optimize gut health.
5. Eat plenty of healthy fats.
6. Enhance cognitive performance and nerve growth factor levels.
7. Boost mitochondrial function.
8. Get mental and physical exercise.
9. Ensure nocturnal oxygenation.
10. Detox from heavy metals.
The book contains significant other natural approaches to treat chronic disease, cancer, depression, fatigue, and other conditions. In my opinion, it is well worth obtaining and using to promote holistic medicine — which, remember, aims to treat the underlying cause of the symptoms and not just the symptoms themselves.
The current medical concept says that Alzheimer’s disease cannot be slowed or cured. But the data coming from these natural approaches suggest it can.
