How Should I Treat My Rosacea?

By    |   Wednesday, 06 May 2015 10:02 AM EDT

Question: What’s the best way to control rosacea?

Dr. Hibberd's answer:

You should see a dermatologist to explore your surgical and laser options.

We usually can control rosacea with topical creams, but sometimes a blue light treatment (or two) may clear up your condition without scarring or expensive prescription medications.

Avoid foods or liquids, such as chocolates and alcohol, which can cause flareups. And if you smoke, you should quit and avoid smoke exposure from others’ cigarettes.

Rosacea is not acne, but is often confused with it.
