Question: I have severe obsessive compulsive disorder and can’t stop looking in mirrors at my hair. I even take pictures with my cellphone. I have a psychiatrist but he won’t change my meds, even though I’ve been on them for eight months and they still aren't helping. What advice can you give me?

Sounds like your obsessive compulsive disorder needs to be treated with a new medical approach. Eight months is more than enough time to have allowed your trial of therapy to be effective.
That said, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), performed by some one who is well experienced might provide additional help. Sometimes group therapy helps, but let your physician be your guide. Ask for a referral to another psychiatrist by your regular physician, or simply set up an appointment with a new psychiatrist.
