Question: I am woman in my 70s, and in basically good health. But my hands often tingle or go numb at night. Any thoughts about what might be causing this?
Dr. Hibberd's answer:
The only way to be sure is to have a physician evaluate you. Numbness and tingling hands could be a result of arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, hypothyroidism, a hormone disorder, or even an injury or tumor.
Sometimes such symptoms can be caused by circulation or blood problems, as well as infections. I would recommend you ask your doctor for a complete assessment.
