Question: My right arm and leg is noticeably bigger than my left limbs. Is this normal?
Dr. Hibberd's answer:
As long as all four limbs have normal length, and normal muscles around them, this is most likely normal, and is unlikely a cause for concern. In right-handed people, especially certain athletes, the right limbs may be bigger. Doing extra exercise, especially weight training, on the left-side limbs, will usually increase their size.If you have any sensory decrease or co-ordination difference associated with this bulk difference, or if the difference is noticable by others,
I recommend you be examined by a medical professional to be sure no underlying neuro-degenerative, myopathic, or spinal cord process has taken place.
