Question: Can green coffee extract affect thyroid problems — positively or negatively?

Green coffee extract does not affect thyroid function positively or negatively. But be sure you understand it does contain caffeine.
 
Be aware that Best Share Green Coffee Brazilian Slimming Coffee was removed from the market by the Food and Drug Administration in November 2012 because it contained sibutramine, a controlled substance removed from the market last year for safety reasons.
 
If you intend to use such products, remember they are largely untested. Avoid Internet purchases from unknown manufacturers, since product sources and components are not regulated or reported, and it can be hard to determine a product’s purity or ingredients.
 
Green coffee extract is produced by grinding raw unroasted coffee beans, and extracting the antioxidants by soaking the ground-up coffee in alcohol. The main ingredient in green coffee extract is chlorogenic acid (an antioxidant). It has been found to increase insulin resistance in mice and evidence for its weight-loss benefits is slim, despite the recent publicity.
