Diabetics take note: Big breakfasts and small dinners have been found to control blood sugar better than eating light right after waking and making the evening meal the biggest one of the day, new research suggests.
Type 2 diabetics who followed that regimen had fewer blood sugar spikes than those who ate small breakfasts and large dinners, according to the study by Tel Aviv University’s Wolfson Medical Center in Israel,
Fox News reports.
Researcher Daniela Jakubowicz noted the body’s internal biological clock regulates blood sugar and that larger glucose spikes tend to occur after evening meals.
The new study involved eight men and ten women with Type 2 diabetes, the most common form of diabetes.
