If your heart is in good shape, chances are your brain's in good shape, too. A new study found that people who had the greatest flow of blood from their heart to their brain tended to have larger brains — an indication of a healthier brain. In fact, HealthDay reported, people whose hearts had the least cardiac output showed almost two more years of brain aging than those in the group with the highest output.
The study included more than 1,500 people with an average age of 61, and all had MRI scans of their heart and brain to measure cardiac index and brain volume.
