Donald Trump trimmed Hillary's Clinton's double-digit lead down to 5 points in Wisconsin, according to the latest Monmouth University poll.
According to another poll, Clinton owned a 15-point lead in the key battleground state earlier in August, the Washington Examiner reported.
The results of the latest Monmouth poll:
- Clinton: 43 percent
- Trump: 38 percent
- Gary Johnson: 7 percent
- Undecided: 8 percent
Trump is leading among Independent voters, 37 percent to 34 percent for Clinton. Johnson is getting 10 percent of the support from that group.
Trump also holds a 2-point advantage among white voters in Wisconsin, according to the Examiner, while Clinton leads Trump by 55 points among minorities.
The Monmouth poll surveyed 404 likely voters in Wisconsin from Aug. 27-30. Results contain a margin of error of +/- 4.9 points.
