Conservative author Ann Coulter sparked outrage on Twitter during Wednesday's GOP presidential debate, saying the candidates were talking too much about Israel.

It was the second tweet, mentioning Jews, that drew the most ire.

Following the debate, Coulter explained what she meant on Fox News Channel's "The Kelly File."

"All the candidates were pandering, and wrote my column about it seemed to hitting certain boxes, half mentioned Reagan and pro-life and Israel," she said. "Half the Republican Party is pro-Reagan and pro-life and pro-Israel. The question after you're president how will America be better and suddenly, we're back to Israel again."

Everyone was simply "checking off of the boxes," Coulter said rather than finding ways to separate themselves from the rest of the pack.
