We Can't Be Silent as Biden Plans to Drop Protect Life Rule

It looks like the federal government is about to break federal law – and is asking the input of the public about it!

A new rule proposed by the Biden administration’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) would require all organizations that receive funding under the Title X program to refer clients to an abortion practitioner.

That is a clear violation of the Weldon Amendment, under which the government cannot discriminate against healthcare agencies that choose not to refer to an abortion practitioner.

It’s tempting to believe that the left hand merely doesn’t know what the right hand is doing; that would be giving the current administration too much credit.

Actually, the Democrats would not be against scrapping the Weldon amendment, similar to their plans to do away with the Hyde amendment that prevents federal money from funding most abortions.

What’s at work here is a plan to repeal, reverse, and eliminate every protection for the unborn and every guarantee of conscience rights as we transform our nation from a freedom-loving democracy to a socialist republic offering free abortion for the asking.

This should surprise no one.

We knew if President Donald Trump did not return to the White House that Joe Biden would work to undo every pro-life gain secured for us by our 45th commander in chief.

On April 15, HHS, — now led by abortion extremist Xavier Becerra — announced it would eliminate President Trump’s Protect Life Rule, which kept federal Title X money for family planning away from abortion businesses.

Actually, that "rule" simply implements what has been in the law from the inception of Title X in 1970. And President Trump isn’t the only one who insisted that this law be followed. President Reagan did as well, and the Supreme Court upheld those efforts of both presidents — efforts that the majority of Americans agree with.

Now Biden and those who control him want to go in the other direction.

The Protect Life Rule made it mandatory for abortion businesses to be physically and financially separated from family planning clinics.

Because Planned Parenthood, the nation’s number one abortion seller, would never shut down or relocate its lucrative trade in baby killing, the organization pulled out of the Title X program, losing some $56 million annually.

Now the federal money will flow to the abortion giant again.

It’s not supposed to be used for abortion but let’s face it, everything from abortionists’ salaries to the electric bill is being paid from that slush fund.

The Protect Life rule also encouraged minors to involve a parent in their plan to seek birth control, which can be harmful and even deadly.

But the Biden administration has dropped any such effort to encourage parental involvement.

We might not be able to stop this train but a small derailment is possible. The government must accept public feedback on its proposed rule changes. Americans have a chance  until May 17  to tell Biden and his henchmen that we do not want our hard-earned money going to abortionists.

We do not just have to sit back and watch the Biden administration scrap the Protect Life Rule.

With abortion-loving Democrats holding a slim majority in the House, an even split in the Senate and a Democrat in the White House, we have to make sure to make our voices heard at every opportunity.

This one is a golden opportunity we must not miss.
