Paris Hilton, the original “celebutante,” walked out on her Good Morning America interview this morning after a mention that her moment in the spotlight had passed, reports
ABC News.
Celebutantes, figures famous for being famous, have solidified their place in mainstream media. But, as with all fame, time in the spotlight is often cut short as the media is always looking for the next hot celebrity figure.
This waning fame appeared to be a sensitive topic for Paris Hilton on Good Morning America. After the show discussed how Kim Kardashian and her family seem to have monopolized tabloid attention, Hilton became offended at the notion that her time had passed. She walked right out of the interview.
A few moments later, Hilton returned back to the interview. “I’ve been doing this for 15 years now, so it’s been a long time…so just like any other business person or something in the industry, it’s always important to reinvent yourself and come up with new projects,” she said.
Hilton ended the interview on a pleasant note, offering the Good Morning America correspondent a goodbye hug.
