Bloggers for various national news websites in Israel don't lack for material given the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and Israel's role in the Middle East.

On the Arutz Sheva website, former Shiloh mayor David Rubin, blogs about Israeli leadership, the military, Israel’s dealings with the United States, and the conflicts in the Middle East. He is also an author and founder and president of Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of Shiloh children who have been impacted by terrorism.

In an Oct. 2 blog post, Rubin criticized Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for not doing more in asserting Jerusalem’s sovereignty for building projects in the capital city.

“Binyamin Netanyahu has always been a powerful speaker, but the reality on the ground usually contradicts his words,” Rubin writes. “Sadly, the lack of action speaks louder than the impressive words. The always spoken about but never advanced E-1 building project in the large, forsaken area between Jerusalem’s French Hill neighborhood and the city of Maale Adumim to its east is a glaring example of that weakness under pressure.”

Batya Medad also blogs for Arutz Sheva. According to the website, Medad is a political pundit, with a unique perspective having experience in teaching, fitness, sales, cooking, public relations, photography, and more.

Jerusalem Post blogger Gil Troy writes about the American presidency, American history, Zionism, Judaism, and Israel today.

In a Sept. 22, blog Troy writes, regarding the upcoming Rosh Hashana holiday, that Jewish people need to examine whether they are willing to immerse themselves in true traditional celebration of the Jewish new year.

“Most Jews, wherever they are religiously or geographically, remain stuck, too complacent regarding their particular Jewish expression, sleepwalking through their traditions and assumptions, without questioning them,” Troy writes. “Most Jews will invest the most energy this Rosh Hashana in planning the right menu or choosing the right outfit. Some might articulate secular-style New Year’s goals of weight loss or professional gain or even improved character. But precious few will set Jewish goals for themselves or try being Jewishly ambitious.”

David Turner is another blogger for The Jerusalem Post. Writing about anti-Semitism and anti-Judaism as part of the “Jewish Problem,” Turner explores Judaism in the context of other religions, particularly Christianity, as part of his book, “An American Exception? Jewish Denial in the 21st Century.”

Senior editor and columnist for the Haaretz, Bradley Burston, writes the blog A Special Place in Hell. While he is a native of Los Angeles, he moved to Israel after graduating from the University of California at Berkeley. He writes about being a modern day Jew, Israeli politics, and Hamas.

Uri Misgav is another blogger for Haaretz. He writes under the Eyes Wide Open heading about the need for more public and transparent discussion about the issues facing Israel and the Jewish people.

“There are no greater enemies to serious discourse than ignorance and superficiality,” Misgav writes. “In this blog, we're going to talk seriously. Everything I present to you is my truth. It will always be fundamental, and it won't always be pleasant, but I promise it will always be topical, well-reasoned, and based on fact to the best of my abilities.”
