Madonna was spotted at the 68
th Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy today, reports

The songstress was there to promote her film “W.E.,” her second directorial effort. The film centers on the life of American divorcee Wallace Simpson and her relationship with Britain’s King Edward VIII that caused him to abdicate his throne in 1936. The film makes its world premiere today.
Madonna told The Associated Press that she can identify with protagonist Simpson because celebrities are often reduced “to a soundbite.”
Supermodel Cindy Crawford and husband Gerber were also present to support friend George Clooney’s film “The Ides of March,” which opened the festival on Wednesday night.
