Kat Von D and Jesse James have called it quits, ending their six-month engagement,
reports The Hollywood Gossip website.
The tattoo artist and her thrice-married biker beau announced their engagement in January and had planned a summer wedding to take place exactly one year after the couple began dating. Von D and James have both confirmed the split.
“I am so sad because I love her,” James told People magazine. “The distance between us was just too much.”
James, 42, lives with his kids outside Austin, Texas, where he moved last year with kids Chandler, 16, Jesse Jr., 14, and Sunny, 7, from previous marriages. The “LA Ink” star is based in Los Angeles.
Von D spoke of the breakup on Twitter, writing, “I am no longer w Jesse and out of respect for him, his family and myself, thats all the info I’d like to share. Thanks for respecting that.”
James and Von D came out as a couple in September 2010, shortly after James’s relationship with third wife Sandra Bullock unraveled due to his infidelity.
