Only a doctor can give a definitive diagnosis as to whether or not an individual is suffering from bipolar disorder.
Thus, even by asking the following questions, many of which are tell-tale signs of bipolar disorder, it is important to see a doctor immediately as these questions may also be signs of depression or other mental illnesses:
1. Have you been feeling depressed?
2. Have you had large mood changes that have lasted for at least a week?
3. Do you feel worthless and a lack of motivation to do things you often enjoy?
4. Have you had major changes to your appetite either up or down?
If you answered yes to many of these questions then it is important to see a doctor who can further investigate the possibility of bipolar disorder.
