Globes Honor Scorsese With Cecil B. Demille Award

Tuesday, 19 January 2010 05:47 PM EST

Martin Scorsese has been honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement at the Golden Globes.

Two of his most frequent stars, actors Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio, presented the award at the Sunday night ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Though Scorsese's 2007 Oscar win for directing "The Departed" was a longtime coming, he has had better success at the Globes.

He has previously won two Globes as director, for "The Departed" and for 2001's "Gangs of New York." He was nominated six other times.
