Todd English's former fiancee is headed for anger-management class after being charged with hitting the celebrity chef with a metal wristwatch in New York City.
A New York judge agreed Thursday to close Erica Wang's assault case without prison time or probation if she completes the anger-management program and 10 hours of community service.
Police say Wang gave English a black eye during an argument Sept. 14. He needed seven stitches.
Wang's lawyer said she's "pleased but not surprised" at the court outcome. A spokeswoman for English didn't immediately respond to telephone and e-mail messages.
English owns the Olives chain and has appeared on Bravo's "Top Chef." He called off the couple's Oct. 3 wedding shortly before the confrontation.
