Anniversary of the Boston Tea Party

On this day in 1773, American colonists rose up against the oppression of British rule in an anti-tax protest we know today as the Boston Tea Party. Dressed as Native Americans, these patriots stormed a British merchant ship and dumped tea into Boston Harbor, setting in motion a chain of events which would eventually lead to the American Revolution.
