Can the Kavanaugh FBI Investigation Be Delayed Any Further?

The Senate decided that it wanted to give the FBI one week to look into the allegations against Judge Kavanaugh. One has to wonder with the small number of people involved why it would take a week to investigate.

The Judiciary Committee said in a statement, "The supplemental FBI background investigation would be limited to current, credible allegations against the nominee and must be completed no later than one week from today."

In the Clarence Thomas hearing for confirmation as a Supreme Court justice, PBS said: “It took two days for the FBI to investigate Anita Hill’s sexual harassment allegation.”

My concern is that the Democrats will bring out new allegations just before the deadline and then ask to extend the FBI investigation just one more week.

The issue is that the committee has voted to take to the full Senate their recommendation for Judge Kavanagh’s appointment so the question is, can the Democrats go around the committee, go straight to the floor, and ask for more time because there are new allegations of sexual misconduct?

Be prepared before next Friday for new allegations to be claimed and for the Democrats to demand an extension of time to review. I would not be surprised that the new claims are already in the hands of the Democrats and they are ready to pounce.

The midterms will be on Tuesday, November 6, just six weeks from next Tuesday. The Democrats only need four new allegations, one per week, and perhaps more than one to try and push the floor vote past the election. If the Democrats win the Senate, they will not allow the vote on Kavanaugh.

The Democrats have said that they want an FBI investigation. The question that needs to be asked of the Democrats is, “Will you accept the outcome of the FBI investigation?” This is a trap since the FBI will not conclude guilt because this is not a criminal investigation.

The FBI has no jurisdiction in this matter because no federal crime has been committed.

The FBI will gather information, take statements, but make no conclusions. With the background checks, the results will be given to the White House and then potentially handed over to the Chair of the Judiciary Committee. The leadership will review the report and then forward it to the leadership of the Senate. Since the committee has already voted, this information will go to the full Senate, and a vote will be called for by the Majority leader.

The Democrats have placed a massive bet on the demand for the FBI to investigate. What are they likely to do if they cannot stall the vote with new allegations or the FBI report gives them no reason to block the nomination? Will they suggest that the FBI failed in its review? Will the hate groups agree to the outcome of the FBI investigation? What a bunch of stupid questions. Does anybody believe that after the FBI investigation the Democrats will capitulate and support Judge Kavanagh? Will they admit that there is no credible evidence to support Dr. Ford’s claim?

I originally thought I would title this commentary, “Dr. Ford assaulted by the Democrats.” The Democrats mistreated her and used her as a pawn caring very little about her. She asked for anonymity, and somehow her story got out. She did not want to come forward, in fact, she never came forward during the previous 6 FBI background checks.

The one thing that puzzles me is the fact that two men came forward and admitted under oath that they were the perpetrators, not Judge Kavanagh.

I am very saddened that our leaders were trying to decide the fitness of a highly respected judge for the Supreme Court based on a discussion, among other trivial things, like flatulence.
