'Tis the season, America!

So, what did the Democrats in Congress get Americans for Christmas this year? No not socks. No not even a fruit cake.

Instead, Democrats have spent around $3 millions of taxpayer money on the partisan impeachment inquiry. Merry Christmas, America!

On Dec. 18, 2019, the United States House of Representatives voted to impeach President Donald J. Trump. House Democrats impeached President Trump on two articles of impeachment: (1) abuse of power and (2) obstruction of Congress. With the adoption of Article 1 and 2 in the House, President Trump became the third U.S. president in history to be impeached.

President Bill Clinton was the last president impeached in 1998.

What are some key differences between President Trump and President Clinton’s impeachment proceedings? The easy one is that Trump’s impeachment has nothing to do with a White House intern and a president committing perjury.

That was Clinton’s drama.

Furthermore, the two impeachment proceedings had different party vote breakdowns.

Unlike Clinton’s impeachment where 81 House Republicans voted against each of the four articles of impeachment, the Democrats’ impeachment of Trump is a purely partisan endeavor. Not a single House Republican voted for Trump’s impeachment.

In contrast, two House Democrats voted against Article 1 and three House Democrats voted against Article 2. In a nutshell, there was bipartisan support against Trump's impeachment. Wrap your head around that one!

With that said, Democrats successfully impeached President Trump. Period. Considering they just impeached President Trump, the most hated Republican by the political left, you would think the Democrats would be giddy to see Trump stand trial in the Senate.

Nope!

Speaker Pelosi announced she is considering delaying the turnover the articles of impeachment to the Senate until Senator Mitch McConnell makes some assurances of a "fair" trial. This sentiment was echoed by Representative James E. Clyburn, D-S.C., and third highest ranking House Democrat, who said he was willing to wait "as long as it takes" to transmit the two impeachment articles to the Senate.

There is no precedent for such a move.

Impeachment and removal of a U.S. president is a two-step process.

The House passes the articles of impeachment and the Senate holds the trial.

This is the process established by our Founders. Pelosi has no legal footing to delay!

For argument’s sake what assurances would the House Democrats would want to hear?

Democrats won’t be happy with anything less than a GOP promise that President Trump will be removed from office.

Spoiler Alert: Pelosi the only assurances you are getting from the GOP controlled Senate is an assured acquittal. These impeachment proceedings are a partisan stunt. A partisan stunt that has cost taxpayers millions.

Democrats know it and most importantly the American people know it.

So what will happen if Democrats don’t transmit the articles of impeachment? What is the next step in their political playbook?

If the Democrats withhold the transmission of the articles of the impeachment to the Senate and use the impeachment vote against Trump in the general election as a talking point, whoever is the Democrat nominee will give very little lip service to substantive issues and will just run against Trump as the impeached and disgraced president.

Democrats are going to say "goodbye" to policy discussions in 2020.

You will only find name calling and unsubstantiated accusations against Trump. By the way, Democrats love accusing Trump of this same behavior, but I digress.

Guess what folks?

That strategy is not enough to win against an incumbent president even without Trump’s superb economic record. Just look at the GOP in 2012. Republicans ran on the unofficial slogan of "Anybody, but Obama" — that flopped. Obama was easily reelected.

Democrats you love to pretend you are smarter than us Republicans so why are you repeating our mistakes?

What about Republicans? Will an impeached Trump with no scheduled Senate trial make Republicans walk away from their president?

Nope!

The GOP is galvanized and united against this impeachment vote.

You may find some Republicans in Name Only (RINOs) and Never Trumpers on cable news shows or twitter celebrating the impeachment of Trump, but this not Trump’s base. Those two groups have already been run out of the Republican Party. Republicans and non-GOP Trump voters who had checked out of the political discourse are suddenly in the trenches again.

Don’t care what the GOP thinks? Look at the American people.

Democrats should remember that 63 million Americans voted for Trump 2020.

A large chunk of those 63 million people live in the important swing states of Florida and the historically blue states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Those Americans are watching these impeachment proceedings with disgust.

Why?

They know Democrats are trying to undermine their vote for Trump. Remember Democrats have been calling for Trump’s impeachment since Trump took office. Those 63 million people will remember this impeachment on Nov. 3, 2020. Trump’s "forgotten man" will not forget.

Democrats let me leave you with some cold hard facts and free advice.

Unfortunately, you've cried wolf too many times. No one believes you! (1) Our nation is exhausted from partisan bickering, (2) Trump won the 2016 election, and (3) the Senate will not remove Trump.

Get over it.

Stop wasting our nation's time. Turn over the articles of impeachment to the Senate and let the trial be carried out in January.

You made your bed now lie in it.
