VILNIUS, Lithuania (AP) — Lithuania's parliament has approved former interior minister and police chief Saulius Skvernelis as the Baltic country's new prime minister.

Ninety lawmakers voted in favor, four against while the rest either abstained or were absent during the vote Tuesday in the 141-member assembly.

Skvernelis, 46, was proposed as prime minister by the agrarian Peasants and Greens Union, which won national elections last month and agreed to form a coalition government with the Social Democrats.
