Filmmaker Michael Moore in 2016 attended a rally opposing then-President elect Donald Trump, which was allegedly organized by Russians, Fox News reports.

Moore, who is best known for his political documentaries, shared pictures and videos of himself attending a protest in Manhattan just after the election.

In a recent indictment signed by special counsel Robert Mueller, the defendants are accused of organizing a "Trump is NOT my President" rally in New York City on that day. The indictment also notes that Russian operatives organized a pro-Trump rally that day in New York as well.

"I'm in the middle of thousands — tens of thousands of American voters outside Trump Tower demanding he step aside. He got the least votes," Moore tweeted on Nov. 12.
