Sexual abuse victims of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein "deserve to be made whole for the lifelong damage he caused," attorney Lisa Bloom tweeted Saturday morning following reports of the admitted sexual abuser's death.
Bloom, who represents three of Epstein's accusers, tweeted:
"On behalf of the victims I represent, we would have preferred [Jeffrey Epstein] lived to face justice. Our civil cases can still proceed against his estate. Victims deserve to be made whole for the lifelong damage he caused. We're just getting started."
Epstein, 66, was found dead Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. ET by suicide in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York, a federal jail in Manhattan. He was being held on federal sex trafficking charges and was facing up to 45 years in prison.
Last week, the billionaire was found unconscious in his jail cell with marks on his neck, and prison officials were investigating the incident as a possible suicide attempt.
