Britney Spears' sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, revealed that she and her family have been receiving death threats as the #FreeBritney movement gains momentum.

Taking to social media, the 30-year-old mother of two addressed the situation.

"Hi, I respect that everyone has the right to express themselves," she wrote on her Instagram Story, according to Newsweek. "But can we please stop with the death threats, especially the death threats to children."

Her plea comes just over a week after Britney asked a judge to end her conservatorship that has been controlling her life and money since 2008. Speaking telephonically, Britney called the conservatorship "abusive," and condemned her father, as well as others who have been in control of her personal and financial affairs.

A day later, Britney admitted to her fans that she had pretended to be okay, and had acted as if her life was fine when it wasn't.

"I apologize for pretending like I’ve been ok the past two years," she wrote in an Instagram post. "I did it because of my pride and I was embarrassed to share what happened to me."

Jamie Lynn remained silent on the matter until last week, when she spoke up in defense of her sister.

"Since the day I was born, I've only loved, adored and supported my sister. I mean this is my freaking big sister, before any of this bulls--t," she said in a video message shared to her Instagram stories, according to People

"I don't care if she wants to run away to a rainforest and have zillion babies in the middle of nowhere, or if she wants to come back and dominate the world the way she has done so many times before, because I have nothing to gain or lose either way," she explained.

"This situation does not affect me either way, because I'm only her sister who's only concerned about her happiness."

Jamie Lynn added that she would always support Britney.

"Maybe I didn't support the way the public would like me to, with a hashtag on a public platform, but I can assure you that I support my sister long before there was a hashtag and I'll support her long after," she said.

"If ending the conservatorship and flying to Mars or whatever the hell else she wants to do to be happy, I support that 100% because I support my sister; I love my sister," Jamie Lynn added. "Always have, always will. As long as she's happy. So let's keep praying. That's all."
