Country singer Hank Williams Jr.'s 27-year-old daughter died in a car accident while towing a boat in Tennessee over the weekend.

Katherine Williams-Dunning was traveling south on Highway 79 in Henry County, with her husband Tyler Dunning, when she crossed the dividing median, WSMV-TV reported. Their 2007 Chevy Tahoe then rolled over into the northbound lanes and came to a stop on the shoulder of the road.

The mom of two was pronounced dead at the scene while her husband was airlifted to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries. Williams-Dunning's sister, Holly Audrey Williams, confirmed the news in a heartfelt post to Instagram.

"ALL we need is prayers," she captioned a photo of the family. "My daddy. My little brother. Katie’s husband (he is awake and responding don’t know injury extent yet). My niece and nephew. Her Mama. The Dunning family. All of us. So. Many. Prayers. Jesus is close. Thank you all. Be merciful to me, O LORD, for I am in distress; my eyes grow weak with sorrow, my soul and my body with grief. Psalm 31:9."

Holly Audrey Williams also wrote of how they had attended a great aunt's funeral days before her sister's death.

"We all went to my great aunts funeral on Thursday whom we all loved dearly, and now are faced with another one. ALL we need is prayers," she noted.

Hank Williams Jr. is the son of iconic country music singer and songwriter, Hank Williams, who died in 1953 at age 29. His son achieved fame for the song, "All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight," Fox News noted. He later rewrote the song as a theme song for ESPN’s "Monday Night Football."
