ActiVote Poll: Trump Takes Slim Lead Over Harris

Former President Donald Trump closed the gap against Vice President Kamala Harris and now leads the Democrat presidential nominee by 1.2 percentage points, according to a national poll released Wednesday by ActiVote.

Trump, the GOP nominee, was trailing Harris by 5.4 points in a poll conducted by ActiVote Sept. 11-17.

The new survey, taken Oct. 3-8, shows Trump with a lead of 50.6%-49.4%.

Both polls surveyed 1,000 likely voters and had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

The survey also found:

  • Trump leads among rural and suburban voters, while Harris leads among urban voters.
  • Harris leads among younger voters (18-49), while Trump leads among older voters (50+).
  • Harris leads among women, while Trump leads among men.
  • Trump leads among White voters, while Harris gets 73% of the Black vote and a majority (59%) of Latino voters.
