Democrat Jon Ossoff is leading 51 percent to 44 percent over Republican Karen Handel in the face for Georgia's 6th District House seat, a SurveyUSA poll reveals.
Here are the poll highlights:
- 51 percent of voters do not consider a major issue that Ossoff lives outside the district, compared to 27 percent who say it is and 21 percent who believe it is a minor issue.
- 52 percent of men say they will vote for Ossoff, compared to 43 percent who plan to cast their ballot for Handel.
- 50 percent of women sway they will vote for Ossoff, compared to 44 percent who are planning to cast their ballot for Handel.
The Hill noted the runoff between the two candidates will be held June 20 and is being watched as "a potential bellwether" for how President Donald Trump could impact the 2018 elections.
SurveyUSA polled 549 likely and actual voters in Georgiaf rom May 16-22. The survey has a 4.3 percent margin of error.
