Daniels has kept to a lower profile than most other potential GOP presidential aspirants in recent months. But on Tuesday, he was featured in a front-page New York Times business-section column for his ideas about how to bring the economy back to health. The column, by David Leonhardt, notes that Daniels is one of the few politicians who can claim to have actually implemented fiscal austerity – in his home state of Indiana, which is weathering the economic storm much better than most other states.
