Republican hopes to regain a majority in the Senate were given a boost by a recent U.S. Chamber of Commerce poll that show the tight race is led by their candidate.

Politico reports that Republican Linda McMahon leads Democrat Chris Murphy by 3 points in the Connecticut Senate race, 42 to 39, based on the Chamber poll of 600 likely voters. About 14 percent of poll participants claimed to remain undecided.

In addition to the Chamber survey, Republicans are increasingly hopeful about the race after the results of a Quinnipiac University poll showed the candidates separated by a single point.
