Top Hillary Clinton assistant Huma Abedin joined Twitter Monday and used her first-ever tweet to denounce Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson for saying a Muslim should not be president.

Abedin, currently embroiled in the controversy over her boss's use of a private email server while serving as secretary of state, accused black neurosurgeon Carson of engaging in "prejudice" with his statement that Sharia Law is incompatible with the U.S. Constitution, tweeting:

Mediaite notes that "[t]he tweet from Abedin, who is herself Muslim, echoes that of her boss who earlier in the day posted an excerpt from the U.S. Constitution" in reply to Carson:

Mediaite reports Abedin "had gained just over 1,000 followers about 30 minutes after she posted her first tweet" and wrote that, "[i]n case there was any doubt that Abedin’s new account was legit, Clinton just made it so":
